90 Days till 60
Earlier this year I declared that I want to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 60 years young/old. Well, I am 90 days from there. If you met me on the street you might think I am a vain b**ch. I do have a slight advantage being a fitness professional, and I walk the talk-mostly. But guess what? I am human too. I ate a home-made oatmeal raisin cookie pre-workout. I like beer and peanut butter and pizza. And I am menopausal, which means I still have some hot flashes and I hold onto weight more than I used to. So, my concept of "best shape" includes getting these things in check...in my control. I trust my functional medicine doc to assist me with this, yet I do my part by watching what I eat, getting in my exercise/movement and getting plenty of rest. Oh, and don't forget about drinking lots of water.
What's your "vision" of you being in the best shape of your life? Go beyond the word "shape". What's in your heart? What lights you up about your life? What do you want to be doing next year, in 5, 10 or 30 years? I want my outer body to represent the ME on the inside. By looking at me you will see that I am passionate about taking care of myself. "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" I live my passion and purpose by doing exercise, eating good food, taking time for myself, fun and adventure. I care about the health of my family, my fellow human beings and the planet.
I am sharing this today because, like you, I want accountability. I have been the instrument of accountability for others for the past 20 years as a personal trainer, but like you, support goes a long way.
